I'm not the most expert character designer, it hasn't been my calling like animating. But lately, I've been working hard to improve those long dormant skills.
During church service, I'll sketch as much as possible. It's the rare time that I don't have to be doing something else (I still pay attention tho, it's too awesome to not).
Usually it's a little dark in church, so they aren't as perfect as some other people's sketches. I'm not going to pretend I have perfect little books that extoll my genius; I can't take that kind of pressure. The fact that I'm using a sketchbook instead of a note pad is a huge step for me.
My thoughts when doing these sketches is to push some geometric shapes into actual characters with emotions. It's a fun experiment, if you're looking to figure out what to draw or trying to come up with a character.
I'd love to see some other readers sketch pages. So, if you're inclined, please leave me a link in the comments.
