Personal Profile
For years I have worked as a freelance Graphic Designer & Animator. I have managed to stay busy despite being in a business that exists in short term contracts. I have a good reputation and maintain a high level of quality with every job, even with deadlines looming. I am a mature and adaptable problem solver with a versatile skill set, whether that includes pencil & paper or computers. I am passionate about what I do and how I do it.
recent CAREER HISTORY
Hired primarily as Location Designer, but the need to fill-in multiple positions on Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues & You arose.
For the Sesame Street production Esme & Roy.
I freelanced on a production pitch that required three backgrounds/location designs and a vehicle design.
I worked on 2 productions here: Corner Gas Animated as a layout and background artist. But most of my time was dedicated to the first Hatchimals web series. I did the layout for the entire show and supervised the background painting. I worked from concepts to solidify the environment for the series and set the style guide. I supervised up to 5 other artists.
Kind of old school with a heavy dose of the new. Nickelodeon’s Welcome to The Wayne will be a stunner to look at. As a layout artist, I make sense of the storyboards, draw the BG, place characters and field guides, then hand it off to scene planning and BG paint.
For two semesters (and a summer camp) I got to teach second year classical animation.
Character animator on Tom & Jerry, season 2 using Flash CC 2015 and After Effects.
Concept design of props and texture map painting of 3D models for a mobile game tie-in of Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong.
I’m presently pursuing freelance work and building a sustainable business through my company, Electric Pencil Productions.
I worked on a variety of social games including DreamPark, Smurf’s Life and the juggernaut that is/was Smurf’s Village.
